Known Issues
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This page lists the most important limitations we are actively monitoring during the public beta. You can report a different problem from the feedback button inside DocVeil.
OCR can miss or misread text
Low resolution, glare, handwriting, unusual fonts, strong compression, and extreme perspective can reduce detection accuracy. Try a clearer source file, enable Photo Mode only for photographed or angled documents, and review every page manually.
False-positive suggestions
Some number sequences or technical codes can resemble phone, payment, banking, or identity data. Suggestions are never applied automatically; remove incorrect matches before export.
Names and street addresses
Names and open-ended postal addresses are not automatically detected in this beta. Use custom phrase search or draw a manual redaction area.
Large documents and browser memory
Long, high-resolution, or photographed documents may scan slowly or exceed available browser memory. The current limits are 20 MB per file, 30 pages total, and 10 files per workspace. Documents of up to 10 pages are recommended.
Blur is not permanent redaction
Blur is a visual effect and can be weaker on high-contrast text. Use a black, white, or REDACTED box when irreversible removal is required.
Image-based output
Secure PDF pages are rebuilt as images. Original text is not selectable, but accessibility, searchable text, file size, and print quality may differ from the source.
Before sharing
Always inspect every page of the downloaded file. Automated detection is an assistant and does not replace a final human review.
